seaside village set in 2006 (as in 1967) Sabina Guzzanti PALLOSUil ON A film for the Lobster

Pallosu not leave indifferent those who, knowingly or by accident, comes to you.
The small seaside village that seems to set in another dimension, has fascinated and "bewitched" many artists and cultural figures who for several years now frequent it regularly, drawing inspiration.

Even Sabina Guzzanti , incisive and committed actress-director-imitator (Biography on http://www.sabinaguzzanti.it/biografia/ ) in the early 2000s, has had the opportunity to know and appreciate Pallosu (a place that is at the end of the world, then you have nothing , say) and some of his characters' history, "as the Corallaro Geppetto, wise man and a great storyteller (which we discussed on this blog). A bond born thanks to my friend, Stefano Benni (pictured below right to Pallosu) writer who spent long periods of inspiration and holidays.

And here Guzzanti-well known (among others) for its tremendous and successful imitation of Berlusconi and D'Alema, in the home and workshop of Geppetto, has decided to set his film " for the Lobster, "whose original title was supposed to contain - so it seems - the name of" Pallosu.

Filming started a few months after the disappearance of Geppetto (ed. Corallaro and one of the historical characters of Pallosu) , which occurred in March 2006. After a survey carried out in September (directly by Sabina Guzzanti accompanied by a few employees), the cast and crew arrived in early October, occupying several rooms of the hotel and some private houses rented.

Si è creato subito un clima da “rimpatriata” tra vecchi amici, ossia buona parte dei componenti del gruppo di “ Avanzi ”, il programma satirico cult televisivo degli anni 90’: Pier Francesco Loche, Antonello Fassari, Cinzia Leone, Francesca Reggiani, Stefano Masciarelli .

Il film è una sorta di documentario-reality - falso, ma anche vero - divertente e a tratti commovente per la sincerità dei protagonisti che mostrano le proprie fragilità; un film che racconta l’Italia di oggi. Durante la permanenza a Su Pallosu l’hotel e la casa di Geppetto sono stati i punti di riferimento degli attori e della troupe, con grandi cene conviviali piacevoli e divertenti, dove non mancava mai la vernaccia e il “filu ferru” forniti generosamente dagli amici sardi.
Le riprese sono durate poco meno di un mese (sono terminate il 30 ottobre 2006).
Il film è stato presentato alla Mostra di Venezia 2007 alle “Giornate degli autori” riscuotendo un indiscutibile successo di critica e di pubblico.

An amusing anecdote was told by Pier Francesco Loche (pictured above at the Hotel Pallosu) on Sarda :
"I had to shoot a short scene, a few seconds, eradicating weeds from the road. The camera was far away, I have not heard him stop, and undaunted, I continued to pull away weeds. The others were talking, preparing other scenes, no one said anything for a few minutes and I've continued diligent wondering what kind of sequence will be? This shows clearly the small seaside village and the Sinis usually have all the credentials to become an amazing set to open and attract new films, the movie "Sympathy for the Lobster" was undoubtedly a very important opportunity to promote turistica.Occasione that has not been properly grasped and exploited by local government as a vehicle to promote the area.

“Punta Tonnara” è senza ombra di dubbio uno dei punti panoramici più belli e straordinari della marina Sanverese (molto amata pure da abitanti di Riola Sardo e Baratili San Pietro), frequentatissimo sia d’estate che in inverno da turisti e gitanti della domenica; punto di arrivo obbligatorio per chiunque faccia una capatina a Su Pallosu .
Quasi un trampolino verso il mare che si raggiunge percorrendo il breve rettilineo dopo l’Hotel Su Pallosu (la dov’è situata la colonia felina), immerso tra le dune sabbiose e la macchia mediterranea, con una splendida veduta sull’isolotto della Tonnara, le rocce delle “ Piscine ” e lo spiaggione sottostante.
Nelle giornate più limpide, alzando lo sguardo all’orizzonte, si possono scorgere Bosa e le alte scogliere che giungono fino ad Alghero ed al promontorio di Capo Caccia.

Questo luogo che colpisce per la sua bellezza selvaggia (uno straordinario biglietto da visita di Su Pallosu o, meglio, una cartolina) , tuttavia, avrebbe bisogno di maggiori attenzioni e cure da parte dell’Amministrazione Sanverese e della Province of Oristano , to which we appeal for some minor works are carried out and eliminate some eyesores that spoil this magical place.

2)livellare il lato destro della strada, dalla curva di Punta Tonnara sino al termine della strada asfaltata, area sottoposta a pesante erosione, in maniera da ripianare la cunetta, ora quasi in disuso, completamente dissestata e piena di pericolose buche in maniera da avere una vera e propria decente e ampia piazzola panoramica;

3) realizzare una palizzata o un robusto muretto a secco anche sul lato destro della strada asfaltata, tra le ville ex Espis e Puddu, per impedire l’accesso agli autoveicoli nel promontorio sabbioso con veduta sul mare (la vegetazione tipica della macchia, in una vasta area circolare diventata parcheggio sulla duna a crollo è completamente scomparsa);

5) prolungare i punti luce esistenti (attualmente sono solo 6 e si fermano poco dopo l'Hotel) sulla strada principale di Su Pallosu per arrivare proprio sino alla piazzetta “Giovannino Murena”(area panoramica Punta Tonnara);

6) place a refuse container and at least in the dry season, the different bins for different separate collection provided by law;

7) fix the road surface of track at least the former villa Espis where the dangerous hole in the picture.

These are small but necessary adjustments, which we hope will be realized as soon as possible synergy between the two contracting authorities: the municipal and provincial levels.
