Pallosu not leave indifferent those who, knowingly or by accident, comes to you.
The small seaside village that seems to set in another dimension, has fascinated and "bewitched" many artists and cultural figures who for several years now frequent it regularly, drawing inspiration.

Even Sabina Guzzanti , incisive and committed actress-director-imitator (Biography on http://www.sabinaguzzanti.it/biografia/ ) in the early 2000s, has had the opportunity to know and appreciate Pallosu (a place that is at the end of the world, then you have nothing , say) and some of his characters' history, "as the Corallaro Geppetto, wise man and a great storyteller (which we discussed on this blog). A bond born thanks to my friend, Stefano Benni (pictured below right to Pallosu) writer who spent long periods of inspiration and holidays.

And here Guzzanti-well known (among others) for its tremendous and successful imitation of Berlusconi and D'Alema, in the home and workshop of Geppetto, has decided to set his film " for the Lobster, "whose original title was supposed to contain - so it seems - the name of" Pallosu.

Filming started a few months after the disappearance of Geppetto (ed. Corallaro and one of the historical characters of Pallosu) , which occurred in March 2006. After a survey carried out in September (directly by Sabina Guzzanti accompanied by a few employees), the cast and crew arrived in early October, occupying several rooms of the hotel and some private houses rented.

Il film è una sorta di documentario-reality - falso, ma anche vero - divertente e a tratti commovente per la sincerità dei protagonisti che mostrano le proprie fragilità; un film che racconta l’Italia di oggi. Durante la permanenza a Su Pallosu l’hotel e la casa di Geppetto sono stati i punti di riferimento degli attori e della troupe, con grandi cene conviviali piacevoli e divertenti, dove non mancava mai la vernaccia e il “filu ferru” forniti generosamente dagli amici sardi.
Le riprese sono durate poco meno di un mese (sono terminate il 30 ottobre 2006).
Il film è stato presentato alla Mostra di Venezia 2007 alle “Giornate degli autori” riscuotendo un indiscutibile successo di critica e di pubblico.

Quasi un trampolino verso il mare che si raggiunge percorrendo il breve rettilineo dopo l’Hotel Su Pallosu (la dov’è situata la colonia felina), immerso tra le dune sabbiose e la macchia mediterranea, con una splendida veduta sull’isolotto della Tonnara, le rocce delle “ Piscine ” e lo spiaggione sottostante.
Nelle giornate più limpide, alzando lo sguardo all’orizzonte, si possono scorgere Bosa e le alte scogliere che giungono fino ad Alghero ed al promontorio di Capo Caccia.

5) prolungare i punti luce esistenti (attualmente sono solo 6 e si fermano poco dopo l'Hotel) sulla strada principale di Su Pallosu per arrivare proprio sino alla piazzetta “Giovannino Murena”(area panoramica Punta Tonnara);

Si può dire che Tziu Peppi Pisanu (all’anagrafe Pisanu Giuseppe Antonio ), pescatore originario dell’I glesiente (nella straordinaria foto qui in alto giovane senza gli spessi occhiali che molti di noi ricordano) , Has spent most of his life in Pallosu.

Le grandi quantità di esplosivo utilizzato dai pescatori provenivano in buona parte dalle miniere del Sulcis e dell’Iglesiente, anche se, dai primi anni ‘40, il materiale esplosivo era ricavato anche dalle mine disposte lungo le spiagge della costa occidentale della Sardegna dai soldati tedeschi, per evitare il temuto sbarco degli alleati Inglesi e Americani (poi verificatosi sulle coste della Sicilia meridionale).

Su Pallosu negli anni successivi - specialmente dagli anni ’50 - con il miglioramento generale delle condizioni di vita, diviene sempre più meta di frequentazione a fini turistici da parte di numerose famiglie provenienti da vari centri abitati della provincia che, durante l’estate, giungono al mare con diversi mezzi, ma soprattutto ancora “a carretta e cuaddu” (il carro trainato dal cavallo). Con la loro presenza comincia a svilupparsi il villaggio di “barraccas” e si vedono i primi turisti continentali e stranieri.
Tziu Peppi, pertanto, nel 1954 acquista altri 1800 metri quadrati di terreno sempre dal Comune, dove fa realizzare un nuovo fabbricato fronte-strada nel quale apre un bar . Qui, come risulta da alcune testimonianze, sembra che fosse svolta, occasionalmente, anche una piccola attività di ristorazione, con Tzia Giuseppina che cucinava e serviva agli avventori il pesce freschissimo pescato dal marito.
Tziu Pisanu, ormai decano dei pescatori di Su Pallosu, continuerà a svolgere l’attività di pesca e a gestire il bar, con l’aiuto importantissimo della moglie, fino alla seconda metà degli anni ’60-primi anni ‘70 quando, acciaccato dai lunghi periodi trascorsi in mare, deciderà di ritirarsi in pensione e di vendere l’imbarcazione; anche il locale, che oramai subisce la concorrenza del più moderno bar del nuovo Hotel (che a sua volta ha sostituito la vecchia trattoria di Tziu Maureddu ), chiuderà dopo breve tempo.
Durante gli anni della pensione Tziu Peppi, nonostante i disagi che la vita al mare comportava per l’anziano pescatore e sua moglie, specie nei lunghi inverni freddi ( l’acqua potabile, tra l’altro, è arrivata a Su Pallosu, soltanto sul finire degli anni ’80 ), non ha mai voluto trasferirsi in paese, legato visceralmente a quel piccolo borgo sospeso nel tempo, tra cielo e mare.
Tutte le mattine, se il tempo era bello, faceva una lunga passeggiata camminando a piccoli passi, invariabilmente sullo stesso percorso; saliva a Punta Tonnara , dava uno sguardo al mare e all’isolotto, poi proseguiva sul tracciato panoramico che attraversa il piccolo promontorio di “mesu turris” up to appear on the long sandy beach of Sa Mesa Longa, then go down the hill a few hundred meters and took him back home.
